Comet Alto City

Return to Projects >>

Hi, I'm one of the Room 4 students and I'm here to tell you about Comet Alto. Comet Alto is a very, very small city because it can only hold two-hundred people including the hotel, which has enough space for one-hundred and eighty people – not including the workers.

The purpose of the project is to help teach us how to make a city, run it, create laws, and maintain order in it. We learn about geography, business and the value of money. For example, each month we have to pay at least 75 bucks for our monthly payments (like insurance, groceries and stuff). We have about 20 businesses. They are called: SuperNova Convenience Store, Sweety Sweets Cafe, Comet Zoo, Hotel, Hardware Store, Oven Hot Pizza Kitchen, Sugary Sweets Bakery, Surf Shop, The Beauty Shop, Seafood Store, Costume Store, Repair Shop, The School Depot, Bookstore, Pet Shop, Hospital, Animal Shelter, etc.

Comet Alto has many officials like Historian, Safety Controller, Judge, Mayor, Vice Mayor and more. The thing that makes it so much fun is that we do all kinds of stuff like buy cars and we get to pick cards out of a little box every week. And on those cards they say either CASH FLOW or EXPENSE. Expense means you have to pay money and cash flow means you get money (this money is not real, its fake money called "Room 4 Money." In my opinion, the money should be called "Comet Bucks.")

Here are some pictures of our city.
